God rest ye weary separatists

God rest you weary separatists

Let nothing you dismay

Remember how your thin-skinned hurt made Christmas go away

To save us from religion’s snare

And keep the creche at bay

Oh tidings of bah and humbug,

bah humbug

Oh tidings of bah and humbug.

We must not say the dread “C” word

Instead say “holiday”

For if someone should utter such it could produce dismay

And their offense is too intense

It makes them run away

Oh tidings of bah and humbug,

bah and humbug

Oh tidings of bah and humbug

The ACLU huffs and puffs

Whenever they do see

A baby in a manger sitting by a Christmas tree

For Jesus brings them no delight

On public property

Oh tidings of bah and humbug,

bah and humbug

Oh tidings of bah and humbug

Though citizens throughout the land

Think these displays are blessed

The separatists are angry o’er the one who is distressed

And rather than just get along

They sue and bring unrest

Oh tidings of bah and humbug,

bah and humbug

Oh tidings of bah and humbug

The ACLU gets angry

If you mention Christmas trees

And when you do they’ll try to sue and get attorneys’ fees

They’ll throw a fit and yell and spit

Until you’re on your knees

Oh tidings of bah and humbug,

bah and humbug

Oh tidings of bah and humbug

So if you love the season

Don’t be cowed by these mean types

And remember the reason

And not all the silly hypes

And celebrate it proudly and ignore their petty gripes

Oh tidings of comfort and joy,

comfort and joy

Oh tidings of comfort and joy
