Illinois Planned Parenthood affiliates merge, CEO steps down
Poor funding and a "changing health care environment" cited as reasons for merger. Terry Bibo of the Peoria Journal Star reports:
Planned Parenthood Heart of Illinois President and CEO Joyce Harant will step down March 1.
The five Planned Parenthood affiliates in Illinois have voted to merge. Harant, who has headed the Peoria affiliate since October 1979, will continue to consult with the organization on a part-time basis during the transition.
