Parents jailed over vaccination refusals

Maria Cheng reports on the AP:

LONDON - As doctors struggle to eradicate polio worldwide, one of their biggest problems is persuading parents to vaccinate their children. In Belgium, authorities are resorting to an extreme measure: prison sentences.

Two sets of parents in Belgium were recently handed five month prison terms for failing to vaccinate their children against polio. Each parent was also fined 4,100 euros ($8,000) . . .

In the U.S. state of Maryland, prosecutors and school officials in one county threatened truancy charges against parents who failed to vaccinate their children. The measure sharply reduced the number of unvaccinated children although nobody has been charged . . .

There is no law that orders a parent to give up parental rights, unless they have committed a
crime against there own kids and no law anywhere that forces prosecution against a parent
or parents via a law like truancy which has nothing to do with forced injections upon the
children which has already proven to be a danger to all children’s health!
Liberalism is a sickness that takes away things from others, while the children of liberals
and jews are not required to bare this illegal burden!

This is America, land of the free, free to make what a parent thinks is the right thing to do. Maybe if some of these vaccinations were proven safe and no risk at all to the children or the parents were more educated in why kids need them.

The vaccines are NOT PROVEN to be dangerous to ALL children. Some children have reactions to something in them. Fine. Don’t try to scare the whole country saying it’s proven that the vaccines are dangerous. EVERY medication out there has the potential of side effects for everyone, even aspirin. That does not make the vaccines dangerous for all children and there is still no PROVEN link to autism like some like to say.
Yes, there may be questions about some of them, but the reality is that these diseases can cause serious problems for the children and can even be deadly. My granddaughter gets her shots when needed on time. We’d rather her have a bit of discomfort from the shots than have God knows what. I’m glad she doesn’t have to get the measles, mumps, chickenpox, and all that I had. Some people have problems with the vaccines and that’s ok. She had a mild rash with her first MMR. But, don’t object to the vaccines out of ignorance. Tracy wants to know why her kids need them. Go to the CDC’s website and read up on the diseases these vaccines protect against and you’ll see why I’m glad the laws protect my grandchild from these illnesses.
