Planned Parenthood mobilizes opposition to parental notification at state Democratic Party convention

Before this weekend’s Democratic Party state convention in San Jose was barely under way, operatives of Planned Parenthood were circulating among delegates sounding the alarm that another parental notification initiative was about to qualify for the ballot.
“It hasn’t qualified yet, but more than likely it will,” Nora Benavides, political director of Planned Parenthood of California, said in a videotaped interview posted on the California Majority Report web site, which includes extensive coverage of the state Democratic Convention.
