Cal. Assembly Committee Approves Bill to Criminalize Spanking
Yesterday, the Cal. Family Council issued this press release that begins:
Assembly Bill 2943 (Lieber) was approved today by the Assembly Committee on Public Safety. If approved by the Legislature and signed by the governor, the bill would make the ordinary practice of spanking a child by a parent a criminal act. This legislation, veiled as a prohibition of corporal punishment and child abuse, makes no distinction between an acceptable form of parental discipline – a spanking – and the violent act of “brandishing a deadly weapon upon a child.” . . .

Being a resident of CA all my life, this state has become one of the most far-left radical states in the country that comes up with the stupidiest laws to put on the books. Assembly Bill 2943 (Lieber)is just another example of the Pinheads in Sacramento trying to take away all rights of parents in the state. A crime for spanking your child? What’s next, raising your child properly after it’s been born? Between San Francisco and the Sacramento Pinheads in the legislature it’s like living in the 60s again where you were “punishable by death” if you show any traits of values, morals or decency.
