KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Alliance Defense Fund Legal Counsel Dale Schowengerdt will be available for media interviews following his participation in a hearing in which ADF attorneys are defending state law against a Planned Parenthood lawsuit. Schowengerdt will be asking the court to determine if a Missouri law that enforces health and safety standards for abortion clinics also regulates clinics that dispense the abortion-inducing drug RU-486.
“A woman’s life is worth more than Planned Parenthood’s bottom line,” said Schowengerdt. “Planned Parenthood’s unwillingness to abide by even the most common-sense safety standards demonstrates where its priorities lie. Planned Parenthood should not get a pass when it comes to safety regulations that all medical facilities must follow, and certainly that should also apply to clinics that dispense RU-486.”
The hearing concerns motions for summary judgment filed in the lawsuit, Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri v. Drummond. ADF attorneys represent Missouri Director of Health and Senior Services Jane Drummond.
In a related case, a federal judge determined in September of last year that Planned Parenthood was unlikely to succeed in having a state law holding surgical abortion clinics to the same safety standards as other medical facilities declared facially unconstitutional. When Planned Parenthood challenged the law, Drummond retained ADF attorneys to represent her in the case (www.telladf.org/news/story.aspx?cid=4255).

Murder is murder. We were all a two-cell human at one time. If you were in your mother’s womb and were asked if you wanted to be aborted, what would you say. We have killed 50,000,000 babies since l973. This is USA’s shame and sin.
