Prosecutor under assault for opposing homosexual agenda

FRC’s Washington Update reports:

. . . Special Counsel Scott Bloch is under fire again and finding few friends within government. If you recall, Mr. Bloch began a five-year term at the Office of Special Counsel in early 2004. At that time he was approached by senior career attorneys regarding a “creative” statutory interpretation made by Elaine Kaplan, an open lesbian activist and Bloch’s Clinton-appointed predecessor. Ms. Kaplan, applying a legally murky Executive Order issued by President Clinton (which President Bush has not rescinded), declared that certain federal employees’ sexual orientation would henceforth be afforded “status” protection. The career attorneys and Mr. Bloch stopped enforcing this executive addition to the nation’s civil rights law, making it clear that if these changes are to occur then Congress needs to do it, something Congress has refused to do . . .

FRC also links to this Wall Street Journal report that indicates Bloch has political enemies on both the left and the right for various reasons: FBI Raids Special Counsel, Seizes Data
