ACLJ Hears From More Than 133,000 People Urging U.S. House to Consider Broadcaster Freedom Act to Prevent Return of Fairness Doctrine

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), focusing on constitutional law, said today it has received more than 133,000 signatures on a petition urging the U.S. House of Representatives to consider the Broadcaster Freedom Act, a measure that would prohibit the return of the Fairness Doctrine. The ACLJ is working members of Congress on the issue including Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), one of the co-sponsors of the Broadcaster Freedom Act. The Act, which would permanently prohibit the FCC or any future President from reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, is bottled up in the House but may be moving closer to a vote . . .
