Kern County clerk targeted due to her opposition to marriage redefinition

The LA Times reports:

Ann Barnett says she’s always tried to do the right thing, whether for her church, her five children, her husband of 31 years or the people she serves as Kern County’s elected clerk and auditor-controller.

So she’s bewildered by the anger that’s come her way since she decided — just before gay marriages become legal — to stop holding all civil weddings at her county offices.

On Thursday, she appeared stung by critics who have labeled her a “religious terrorist” and called for her resignation; by the hate mail that has flooded her office; by the unceasing requests for interviews, so many that she has unplugged her home phone . . .

Ann has put a down payment on her place in Heaven. She needs to stand firm whatever the consequences for the sake of her eternity. The world will hate us for walking in the truth, but we will only have to accept that fact temporarily. This world is passing away. I was surprised too when I first found out how many people are under the sway of the evil one these days. May God bless her and her family

I would bet that if a poll or vote were taken in her town that the VAST majority would support her and her decision. The ones that would not support her decision are just whining louder right now. I personally don’t care what folks do behind closed doors. BUT, DO NOT try to force your lifestyle upon the general public and try to change what has worked for the past billion years or so.

Ann Barnett is standing up for her beliefs, showing the honor and courage she was raised with, and is definitely “doing the right thing”. Unfortunately the typical response of the homosexuals and their supporters towards those that disagree with their point of view is hate and threats of violence. Although my personal belief is that homosexual behavior is a result of defective genes; I say do what you will behind closed doors where your actions are your choice. Sex and sexual preference belongs in the bedroom not the public forum.
I stand with Mrs. Barnett and look forward to the day when the illegal usurpation of the peoples will by the liberal Supreme Court judges will be corrected. When a laws is passed by voter referendum it should never be allowed to be reversed by an elite few, that action must be reserved for the people.
