IN: Judge strikes down sex registry law

IndyStar.com reports:

A federal judge has struck down a new state law that would allow police to search the computers of convicted sex offenders long after their sentences had been served.

Starting July 1, the law would require sex offenders enrolling in the state’s public registry to submit e-mail addresses and user names for instant messaging and chat rooms.
