Breaking! Marriage Amendment vote fails in Arizona Senate, for now

The Arizona Republic is reporting that the Marriage Amendment has failed to pass in the Senate on a 14-11 vote, but another vote may be forthcoming.  Radio reports this morning indicated that several Republican Senators, who would probably  support the Amendment and provide the votes needed for passage, were absent from the Senate.

The Center for Arizona Policy provides links to state legislative information on the marriage referendum - HCR 2065/ SCR 1038.

Stay tuned for further updates.
