. . . Some employers would have trouble accommodating transgender employees because of their own religious objections and other employees’ privacy concerns in restrooms, said Glen Lavy, senior counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, a conservative Christian group.
“I’m not asking this committee to make a moral judgment about transgender persons,” he testified. “What I am suggesting is that federal law should not make that moral judgment for all employers.” . . .

Ashley Horne, federal policy analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said: “This hearing on alleged discrimination against people who self-identify as ‘transgender’ is simply a ruse to get ‘gender identity’ included the next time Congress tries to pass the Employment Nondiscrimination Act.”
