Mass. Senate votes to let nonresidents enter same sex “marriages”
The AP reports on OneNewsNow: “The Massachusetts Senate has voted to repeal a 1913 law used to bar out-of-state homosexual couples from marrying in the state. The law prohibits couples from obtaining marriage licenses if they couldn’t legally wed in their home states.”
The House is scheduled to take up the matter later this week.
An earlier related AP report is here.
The Massachusetts Catholic Conference issued a statement (not found online at this posting) signed by Bishops in Massachusetts that concludes:
We, the Roman Catholic Bishops in Massachusetts, oppose Senate 800. Our legislature is attempting to impose the Supreme Judicial Court’s definition of marriage upon other states. Such action endangers the principle of state sovereignty that gives each state the right to govern itself and enact its own laws. Massachusetts enjoys this same protection and rightly would not tolerate its violation by another state. Thus, we urge the legislature to respect the laws of other states by voting no on Senate 800.

ENOUGH IS EONOUGH. ITS TIME TO START EXCOMMUNICATING ALL THESE PEOPLE AND LET THEM GO TO THE SO-CALLE CHRISTIAN CHURCHES LIKE THE UCC AND THE METROPOLITAN COMMUNITY CHURCH, PLACES WHERE THE WORD OF GOD IS IRREVELANT. MY CHURCH THE U.P.C.I AND THE GREAT BISHOP SHERMAN C.G. ALLEN OF THE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST HAVE ALREADY STARTED TO KICK THESE SEINNERS OUT OF THE CHURCH. SHERMAN ALLEN PERSONALLY REMOVED 5 KNOWN HOMOSEXUALS FROM THE CHURCH, ITS GOOD TO SEE PEOPLE TAKING ACTIION AND NOT BENDING TO THIS SINFULL AGENDA. ADF KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
