I don’t live, vote, or have standing to sue over denial of the rights of citizens in Oregon, but one of the grand old Oregon traditions with which I am familiar is their republican form of govenrment basedx upon popular soveereignty exemplified in the famous early question “Wnho’s for divide?” a foontiersman’s way of calling for a vote. I first saw that on the old program dramatizing historical moments like that hosted by Ronald Reagan, and verified it in academic records.

I don’t always agree with even the Republican elected officials, or the voters, in Oregon. I do, however, hope the voters of Oregon stick with Senator gordon Smith, despite our disagreements on many issues, becuase he would vogte with the Republicans on judicial confirmation and other issues of vital importance to me. He also has a very valuable special interest in and knowledge of mental helth issues, important to me and particuularly important given what we know about Iraq soldiers nad vets.
