Jindal will not renew employment discrimination ban
The Advertiser reports:
Gov. Bobby Jindal said Wednesday that he would not renew an order banning discrimination against gay and lesbian state employees enacted four years ago by former Gov. Kathleen Blanco.
The 2004 executive order signed by Blanco prohibited employment discrimination against and harassment of state government employees. The order listed the expected designations - race, religion, gender, national origin, political affiliation and disabilities - and added “sexual orientation.”
