Writer points out media bias in report on ADF involving Maryland transgender suit

Gazette.net carries this letter to the editor by Robert McDermott. It points out media bias in a report involving the battle over a transgender law in Maryland. Mr. McDermott begins:

Poor reporting is demonstrated in the description of the transgender bill fracas (”Maryland’s highest court agrees to hear transgender appeal,” Aug. 13 article). Equality Maryland is simply described as a group that supports the law. They are in fact a far-left leaning gay rights advocate group supported by other such groups from out of state.

There is no mention of the group’s political persuasion or backers. The Alliance Defense Fund, which is representing the Citizens for a Responsible Government, is described as a “conservative Christian non-profit.” . . .

We don’t have a link to the original report to confirm its details, but unfortunately, this kind of media bias is all too common. Thank you Mr. McDermott.
