ACLJ Victory: Federal Jury Awards Teen Challenge Nearly $1M in Damages in Religious Discrimination Case

The Tennessean carries this report: Jury hits Metro with $968,000 judgment. “Metro had already admitted to violating the Fair Housing Act by eliminating rehabilitation services as a permitted use in agricultural districts in 2007 - after Teen Challenge had already bought 13 acres at 2165 Baker Road. The jury ordered the city on Wednesday to pay $967,995 in damages to the Christian group, which was forced to sell its land after the zoning change by the Metro Council.”

The ACLJ has this post discussing the case.
