How to Cut Divorce in Half
FRC’s Washington Weekly Update carries this report:
That’s why FRC included “strengthening state marriage laws by reforming divorce” as one of our “25 Pro-Family Policy Goals for the Nation.” One of the potential reforms would be replacing “no-fault” with a system of “mutual consent” divorce, under which an expedited divorce would only be available if both spouses want the divorce and are able to negotiate mutually agreeable arrangements regarding child custody and the division of assets and finances. Marriage advocate Michael McManus is also promoting this idea in his new book, How to Cut America’s Divorce Rate in Half, which was the subject of a feature article in today’s Washington Times.
