The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles commissioner today backed off its denial of a woman’s request for a personalized license plate reading “BE GODS.” . . .
It was not immediately clear what effect the reversal would have on Ferris’ lawsuit, which was filed on her behalf Monday in U.S. District Court in Indianapolis by the Alliance Defense Fund of Scottsdale, Ariz. The suit challenged the policy on religious references as unconstitutional.
