South Carolina: Sex trade plagues Greenville County
The Greenville News reports:
No matter how many times Greenville County sheriff’s deputies round up people and charge them with being prostitutes and their customers, they keep returning to the same Westside neighborhoods, officials and residents say.
Deputies said they have fought the sex trade by filing charges of prostitution and by conducting occasional stings on customers.
Meanwhile, county enforcers have used building codes to shut down houses where prostitution is suspected, said County Councilwoman Judy Gilstrap.
