Matt Bowman: Real “abortion reduction” agendas don’t fund abortions

Today, major news outlets are reporting that newly-sworn-in President Barack Obama is set to issue an executive order to give federal funds international groups that advocate or perform abortion.

If the executive order occurs as reported, President Obama will be illustrating just how hardcore and extreme he is in favor of killing unborn children. In an economic crisis, his top priority is to issue an executive order that not only helps send federal funds overseas, but that channels those funds directly into abortion groups. This is the first bailout of 2009–a bailout for the international abortion industry.

Money will be given to groups like Planned Parenthood, which performs several hundred thousand abortions in the US alone every year. The overseas money will go to PP as well as to other abortion chains like Marie Stopes. Such groups not only kill babies, they introduce dangerous abortion methods that hurt women in countries that don’t even have clean water and health care, and they relentlessly pressure countries to change their laws so that babies are killed (with our dollars) instead of protected.

This international abortion bailout is all the more ironic since President Obama and his supporters claimed, during the campaign, that Obama was really an abortion-reducer. Some leftist Christians even claimed that he was the pro-life candidate for pro-life voters. Documented evidence showed this was ridiculous during the campaign, but now it is being illustrated by living proof (or rather, dying proof).

Abortion advocates can’t get the public to accept an abortion-industry bailout if they describe it truthfully, so they have decided to just label it something else that people want, “reducing abortion,” while they do the opposite. “Abortion reduction” will be called, and is being called, “pregnancy reduction,” and pregnancy reduction is being defined as pouring billions of taxpayer dollars into a bailout of the abortion industry.

In the minds of these public officials and the their public apologists, abortion reduction will be accomplished by funding the abortion industry. Less is more, don’t you know. Or maybe, you have to kill babies to save them. Or something like that. Don’t ask them for the math. Just drink the kool-aid and repeat this over and over again until you believe it: abortion reduction means giving money to the abortion industry.

President Obama’s has always admitted, in candid moments, his un-living commitment to the abortion industry. This is especially evident when he expressed his most dreamy and star-struck wish, to sign the apocalyptic Freedom of Choice Act as his first act as President. He did not sign FOCA as his first action, only because it was not on his desk—yet. But he is paying the abortion industry back, big time and without delay. He is filling his administration with die-hard abortion enthusiasts from groups like NARAL and Emily’s List. He will put the same types of people in the federal courts, who like Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg believe in an extremist “fundamental right” to abortion that not even partial-birth abortion can trump. And now the President has begun his “abortion reduction” agenda by authorizing the first of billions of dollars to bailout the abortion industry, here and around the world.
