Warning: “Southern Voice” is a newspaper that promotes homosexual behavior.
Lou Chibbaro, Jr. writes on Southern Voice:
. . . Activists following the Obama proposal said it could become controversial within the gay community if Congress refuses to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA, but moves ahead with legislation providing marriage-related rights only for civil unions and domestic partnerships . . .
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who is gay, said he also supports the Obama proposal as long as it’s inclusive of married same-sex couples. Frank’s home state of Massachusetts is one of only two states that have legalized same-sex marriage; Connecticut is the other.
But Frank cautioned the political climate in the country, and especially in Congress, wouldn’t enable Obama and his allies to repeal DOMA in the foreseeable future . . .
