ADF: “What’s LEFT of the Constitution: Faith Debasing Initiatives”ALLIANCE DEFENSE FUND What’s Left of the Constitution? Faith Debasing Initiatives Watch the new video at www.telladf.org/left “What’s Left of the Constitution?” is a periodic news digest featuring Alliance Defense Fund legal analysis of proposals, policies, and trends advanced by the federal government. On a regular basis, this digest specifically highlights policies and actions that move America away from the principles of the U.S. Constitution and closer to the demands of the political Left, especially ones that threaten religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and marriage and the family. IN THIS INSTALLMENT: Recently the new administration announced that they would be expanding the efforts of faith-based initiatives (with the new name of “White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships”). The president has pledged that he would not favor certain religious groups over others, as he noted at the recent National Prayer Breakfast. ADF is confident (and has often litigated and won on the grounds that) there is not a problem with the so-called “separation of church and state” when it comes to faith-based organizations receiving federal dollars for non-religious purposes. The larger problem, however, is whether participating organizations will be allowed to hire staff based on their religious beliefs. Read and watch at www.telladf.org/left! ADF is a legal alliance of Christian attorneys and like-minded organizations defending the right of people to freely live out their faith. Launched in 1994, ADF employs a unique combination of strategy, training, funding, and litigation to protect and preserve religious liberty, the sanctity of life, marriage, and the family.
