Senate Judiciary Committee to Hold First Hearing on the Uniting American Families Act Next Wednesday

HRC Back Story Blog: “Next Wednesday the Senate Judiciary Committee which is chaired by Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) will hold the first Congressional hearing on the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA). The bill would allow citizens and legal residents in same-sex relationships to sponsor their partners for immigration purposes. The hearing will take place on Wednesday, June 3rd at 10 a.m. in Room 226 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.”
