Rutherford Institute, others: Virginia Jail Ban On Biblical Passages Unconstitutional

Rutherford Institute: “The Rutherford Institute, in conjunction with the American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of Virginia, the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, Prison Fellowship, the Friends Committee on National Legislation and the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, has demanded that officials at the Rappahannock Regional Jail immediately end their illegal practice of censoring religious material sent to detainees.”

I praise the Lord for the Court’s decision here. My son became a TRUE
born again follower of Christ while in jail. Thereafter, he was given a very long sentence and has been in jail for 12 years now. IT
WAS NOT A ’snickered-at’ “Jail house salvation.” It was GENUINE.
I am able to send him copied-from-the-internet articles, tracts, etc.
We call them “pass-alongs.” We both feel that the Lord had this path
planned for him, that he be, and IS, a “light of God’s love” in a
very dark place. He lives his life as those it may be the only “sermon” some will every ’see.’
I only wish he had a Prison Ministry pastor at his place. The one
there now is, it seems, secular and on a ego trip, this being his 1st
assignment as the a Head Pastor. I wonder if he does more harm than good. Sad.
