RI Gov. to lawmakers: leave my vetoes alone

Providence Journal: “The National Organization for Marriage of Rhode Island sent a letter to lawmakers urging them to leave untouched Carcieri’s veto of a bill approved after Mark S. Goldberg’s high-profile struggles to persuade state authorities to release the body of his partner of 17 years. ‘Rather than being compassionate, the legislation in question is actually an exploitation of Mr. Goldberg’s tragedy by the homosexual-marriage activists in Rhode Island,” wrote NOM executive director Christopher C. Plante. “Despite their claims to the contrary, these bills serve simply as ‘Trojan horses’ for homosexual-marriage.’”
