In their new Quebec Policy Against Homophobia: Moving Together Toward social Equality, Provincial government of Quebec just gave itself permission to take all necessary steps to wipe out, not just ‘homophobia,’ but also ‘heterosexism’ . . . [defined as the] ‘affirmation of heterosexuality as a social norm or the highest form of sexual orientation; social practice that conceals the diversity of sexual orientations and identities in everyday representations, social relations and social institutions, in particular, by taking for granted that all people are heterosexual.’”
