Indiana: Senate panel approves same-sex “marriage” measure

South Bend Tribune: “The nation’s ongoing debate about same-sex marriage took the stage Wednesday at the Statehouse, as an Elkhart County lawmaker introduced a measure that would allow Indiana voters to decide if the state’s constitution should specifically bar marriages and civil unions between gay and lesbian couples . . . The committee approved Yoder’s resolution by a vote of 6-4, making it eligible for a hearing before the full Senate. The vote was split along party lines, with Republicans supporting it.”
