ADF files brief asking court to affirm personhood of preborn children Friend-of-the-court brief challenges Planned Parenthood’s attempt
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund filed a friend-of-the-court brief Friday with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit asking the court to reject Planned Parenthood’s attempt to block portions of South Dakota’s informed consent law. The brief argues that Planned Parenthood does not have the legal right to bring its lawsuit because it actively works to keep the truth about abortion from mothers. The brief also asks the court to reverse a portion of a lower court ruling that struck down a part of the law that required doctors to inform women that they are terminating a legally protected relationship with an “unborn human being.” The judge concluded that preborn children are not “persons.” Case Name: Planned Parenthood v.
