400,000 voters mistakenly voted against Prop 8?

The Orange Country Register: “Prop. 8 proponents could have won by a much larger margin if not for voters who misunderstood the 2008 measure. As many as 400,000 voters cast ‘no’ votes on the measure because they thought a ‘yes’ vote meant they favored gay marriage, according to the study released by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Mentoring Project.”
