School speech codes revisitedOne News Now: “A new ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has prompted the Alliance Defense Fund to send follow-up letters to five colleges and universities it contacted in April about their problematic ‘speech codes.’ . . . “The University of the Virgin Islands had a speech policy much like those of the five schools that we sent letters to, and the Third Circuit again said, ‘That’s unconstitutional,’” reports Casey Mattox, ADF legal counsel. “This is an unconstitutional regulation of students’ speech to punish students because another student might claim to be offended by what they’ve said.” | Related ADF Media |
