Minnesota Exploiting Ruling to Force Taxpayer Funded Abortions | Life News

LifeNews: “The critical taxpayer dollars of Minnesotans should not be used for medically unnecessary abortions, nor should such funding be used to take the lives of more African-American babies than other babies,” said lead counsel Chuck Shreffler, one of nearly 2,200 allied attorneys with Alliance Defending Freedom. “The reporting statistics are unambiguous,” added Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Steven H. Aden, who is co-counsel in the case. “The state is indisputably funding medically unnecessary abortions in violation of state law, and 40 percent of the abortions are being executed on African-Americans even though they make up only 5 percent of the state’s population. This lawsuit intends to stop this from continuing.”

Top 10 reasons against Roe v. Wade | LiveAction News

Rebecca Downs at Live Action News: Wednesday night, Students for Life of America’s group, Law Students for Life, and Harvard Right to Life held a debate, as part of the Law Students for Life tour. The debate was titled “Should Roe Survive Another 40 Years?” The event was broadcast live via USTREAM, and it is still up on the “Resources” section of the Law Students for Life website for those who are interested . . . Instead, the event first featured a presentation from Steve Aden, from Alliance Defending Freedom, followed by Professor Teresa Collett, of the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Now, I consider myself someone well-versed in the pro-life movement and the Roe v. Wade decision. However, there was much I learned from Aden’s carefully crafted presentation, which started off with the premise that Roe v. Wade is the single worst decision the Court has made and is a Supreme Court decision that the pro-choice side has never been able to get the other side to fully accept. The rest of his presentation involved the top-ten reasons to support his premise. The following portion of the article is my recounting of Aden’s reasons and explanations.

MT voters approve parental consent law | Alliance Defending Freedom

As Gender Gap Narrows in Election, Planned Parenthood to the Rescue? | NC Register

NC Register: Steven Aden, senior counsel for the Alliance Defending Freedom, a public interest group, confirmed the Obama administration’s steady defense of the beleaguered abortion provider. The Alliance Defending Freedom has been engaged in defending state efforts to defund the organization in Arizona, Texas and Indiana, and they are monitoring court cases in Kansas, Tennessee, North Carolina and elsewhere. The administration “has intervened in court cases in Indiana, Texas and Arizona to state its position that any move to strip dollars from the organization is unconstitutional and against federal law,” stated Aden, who has assisted in the legal defense of Arizona’s law in court. He noted that the administration had employed other strategies for aiding Planned Parenthood affiliates that have been denied Title X funds by state law. “When New Jersey defunded Planned Parenthood, the Obama administration provided federal dollars. In New Hampshire, when the three-person body responsible for state contracts canceled the contracts with Planned Parenthood, the Obama administration moved directly to fund it with federal dollars,” said Aden.
