Jeremy Dys writes at the Engage Family Blog: “Downtown, 134 lawmakers took the time to affirm the life-saving, women’s health-loving, family-supporting work of the thousands of staff and volunteers who support their local PCC (maybe you call them Crisis Pregnancy Centers). Uptown, supporters of an unfettered abortion industry dodged the rain and the use of the word “abortion” except to point out how mean “anti-abortion” people were and how Planned Parenthood – who performed more than 330,000 abortions in 2009 – does not use Federal Funding to perform abortions (note how they never deny doing them, just not using your tax dollars to do it). I feel sorry for PP, what with all the scandal and proposed cuts in funding! So, I’m offering them some advice to help them tighten their budgetary belts and, while I’m at it, put a few fallacies to rest. So, here’s what I might tell Planned Parenthood if I were their budget analyst . . . ”

World Net Daily: Only one allegation shook Kline out of his studied cool. When Hazlett asked him to confirm whether he had launched his investigation without a definitive complaint, Kline answered in the sarcastic affirmative, “Yes, a child has not come forward and reported that my rape had not been reported by Dr. Tiller.” Although Tiller was murdered after being cleared in a sham trial staged half-heartedly by Kline’s Democratic successor as attorney general, Planned Parenthood still faces the 23 felony counts brought by Kline. The motivation behind this legal grotesquerie seems to be that, if Kline is found culpable, no one will have the will to pursue the charges against Planned Parenthood.

LifeNews: “So, you know, my bottom line is, that uh, I think that Planned Parenthood in the past has done good work. If there was a specific problem at this center, it should be addressed,” Obama continued.

Christian Newswire: “In response to videos produced by Live Action showing Planned Parenthood workers willing to conspire in sex trafficking, Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) joined other members in calling for the defunding of that organization. At a news conference last week hosted by Live Action and Susan B. Anthony List, Stearns stated that he plans to call the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), Kathleen Sebelius, to testify on taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood and that organization’s tolerance of sex trafficking and other criminal activities.”

Politico: “Under the GOP’s current spending proposal, a program, called Title X, will be slashed completely, drastically reducing the services family-planning clinics can provide, including cancer screenings, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, and contraception for low-income women, Democrats say. Last year, the program cost $317 million.”

“Over the past week, Live Action has released six videos revealing Planned Parenthood’s willingness to aid and abet the sex traffickers of underage girls. Since the beginning of our release, Planned Parenthood has attacked our organization and attempted to discredit the growing evidence of institutional and rampant abuse cover up. Here is a top six list of some of the deceiving statements that Planned Parenthood has made in just the past few days . . . ”

Townhall (Baptist Press): “An Ohio judge has ruled a Planned Parenthood affiliate violated a state law involving an under-age girl in another example of misconduct uncovered among the abortion giant’s centers . . . ‘The health and safety of young girls is more important than Planned Parenthood’s desire to perform an abortion,’ said Brian Hurley, an Alliance Defense Fund-affiliated lawyer who is representing the girl’s parents in the case.”

WorldNetDaily: “Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio Region violated a state law requiring ‘informed consent’ before performing an abortion on a 14-year-old girl in March 2004, according to an Ohio court . . . ‘The court made the right decision at this point in the case, and we look forward to ultimate success once the trial is over,’ said Alliance Defense Fund Legal Counsel [Matt Bowman] in the news release.”

Michael J. New writing at National Review Online: “Earlier this week, the Washington Post ran an article about a new study disputing the contention that abortions increase the risk of mental-health problems among women. This study, conducted by Julia Steinberg of UC–San Francisco and Lawrence Finer of the Guttmacher Institute, appeared in the October 2010 issue of Social Science and Medicine. It is somewhat surprising that the authors decided to publish this study in an independent, peer-reviewed journal. All too often, researchers who support legal abortion are content to have their analyses appear in the Guttmacher Institute’s own publications.”
Study is here.

Christian Post: “There has to be a wall institutionally between the government and the church or religious groups,” he said. “But many have taken that law of separation to think that it means separating religion from politics, which is precisely the opposite of what the Founding Fathers wanted.”
