PA: Policy changes end abortion shirt lawsuit in West Shore

The York Dispatch: “Policy changes will end a lawsuit against West Shore School District in a freedom of speech case about a student’s T-shirt with ‘Abortion is not healthcare’ scrawled on it . . . The New Cumberland boy had already received temporary permission to wear the shirt, according to the boy’s legal representatives from the Alliance Defense Fund. The policy changes make it permanent . . . ‘Our biggest concern going in was to make sure the policies were revised. Christian students have the same First Amendment rights as other students,’ said David Cortman, senior legal counsel with Alliance Defense Fund. The lawsuit is now over, he said. ‘We certainly appreciate the district’s swift action.’”
