The committee voted 8-5 in favor of the bill and also approved two amendments reinstating complete parental access to all curriculum and instructional materials and adding "guardian" to the provision allowing parents to opt their children out of all or part of the sex-ed program. The bill and the amendments are now on their way to the Assembly floor for a full vote.
